Puerto Rican native Gary Brown signs with West Virginia

West Virginia added another piece to its 2011 recruiting class on Monday with a commitment from Gary Browne, a Puerto Rican native in his first season at Arlington Country Day School in Florida.
Prior to arriving at Arlington Country Day, Browne was named Puerto Rican Player of the Year as a junior, while leading St. Francis School to the state championship. Last summer, he was the starting two-guard for the Puerto Rican U-18 national team, in what turned out to be a turning point in his development.
"We saw last summer when he came back from the World Basketball Festival that point guard was his natural position," said Todd Washington, founder of the Puerto Rico Playmakers and mentor to Browne.
